It was 1976 at the age of 13 when Jay first started singing.  His Parents, Jim and Jo Humphreys, started the Good News Singers which then changed to The Humphreys Family.  They traveled for 26 years singing all over the Eastern part of the United States and seeing many souls saved.  In 1995 his mom went home to be with the Lord.  The Humphreys continued singing for a short time and then came off the road.  After a short break, Jay joined the Praisemen Quartet filling the bass position.  After singing lead for 26 years with his family, this was a big change but very enjoyable.  Jay sang with the Praisemen Quartet for 4 years and he had the privilege to share the stage with many of Gospel Music's greats such as Gold City, The Kingsmen, Tony Gore, Mark Trammel Trio, The Inspirations, The McKameys, Squire Parsons and many more.  Now, the Lord has opened another door for Jay and his daughters, Cassie and Cara.  Jay's wife, Melanie, and daughter Cloe, also play a vital role in the family group.  Jay is excited to be able to travel with his family and states, "It is a privilege to carry on the Humphreys singing tradition with the third generation of what was started over 30 years ago.  I thank God daily for saving my soul and all the many blessings he has given me.  Our mission is to be an instrument for Him for the up-building of His Kingdom and to see people uplifted.  Thank you for your support in our ministry.  God Bless You All!

Cassie, Jay and Melanie's oldest daughter, was born May of 1989.  She started traveling from the time she was born.  She traveled as a child all over the Eastern part of the United States with "The Humphreys."  She started singing at the age of two and recorded a song on one of "The Humphreys" Projects when she was six  Cassie sings the alto part for the group and has a very unique voice.  Cassie is now married to Joey Moore and they have two daughters, Lyric Marie Moore and Lakin Jo Moore.  Joey runs the sound for JHT and works very hard during set up and tearing down.  Cassie's favorite group is "Gold City Quartet."  Her favorite song is, "God Handled It All," by Gold City.  Her favorite scripture is John 3:16.  While traveling Cassie enjoys shopping and eating at her favorite restaurants.   Cassie states, "I am glad to have been raised in a Christian home and have the opportunity to sing with my family.  Many people have passed on in my life, one of the most important was my Grandmother Jo Humphreys.  Even though she went home to be with the Lord, she continues to be my idol.  I love to hear stories about her.  I know she is smiling down and is proud of her grandaughters.  I wish she could be here to see.  That's why I owe all of my desire to sing for the Lord to my Grandmother Humphreys.  Most of all I owe it all to Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior who gave me the talent to be an instrument for Him."

Cara, Jay and Melanie's middle daughter, was born in August 1994.  Cara has traveled since she was a very young child.  Cara sings the alto and soprano parts for the group.  She enjoys singing and loves the Lord.  Music is a part of her daily routine.  Cara is married to Matthew Sovine.  Cara's favorite singers are, "The Isaacs, and David Phelps."  Her favorite scriptures include Psalms 23.  Cara states, "The Lord has blessed me with an amazing family and the oppurtunity to tell someone about Jesus."
